Letters and Pictures!

A real letter from Elder Boman finally arrived! There was also a letter from his Mission President and a couple pictures. They are scanned in, so they are a little grainy but it is great to see his face again!

I'm not sure how big this will be when I post it, so in case you can't read it, it says:

Hey Mom & Dad! I'm serving in the Hamilton Mill branch! I start legitamately tomorrow! I will be on Bike! My trainer is the District leader Elder Anderson! The plane ride here was good! Not bad at all! Elder Dennie didn't like it too much though! It was his first time flying!

I'm excited to start getting into the real mission work, meeting with real investigators! I Love You! Hope All is well!

Love, Elder Boman

And this is where he is serving and a map of his mission.
Jeff and his Mission President and his wife - President and Sister WolfertThese are all the new missionaries that went out with Jeff. For some reason, the scans cut off different people so there are 2 different pictures.
For some reason, the scan of the Mission President's letter will not post. Here is what it said:

Dear Brother and Sister Boman:

Elder Boman arrived in the Georgia Atlanta North mission safely and in very good spirits! We are thankful that your son has been called to serve with us here in this great mission. It is a privilege to work with the finest young men and women in the world as we teach the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will receive it.

We have enclosed a photo of Elder Boman taken with us on his arrival at the mission home. We are excited at the opportunity to become acquainted with your son and to feel of his spirit and testimony.

Our goal is to have every missionary grow in the gospel and to succeed in this very sacred calling. It will be a joy to watch him reach his full potential as a missionary. We know he will have sacred experiences, as he is obedient and dedicated to the work. We hope you will also support your son by writing or emailing him uplifting encouraging letters. Missionaries struggle when they hear disturbing news from home. They can't stay focused on the work and they worry too much about home. Missionary work can be challenging and they need your weekly letters to give them spiritual strength and encouragement, not concerns about home.

We are so thankful that you prepared your son to enter the mission field where he will continue to be strengthened and grow in the gospel. We know it is a sacrifice to give up your son for two years, but the Lord loves him and needs him to build the kingdom in the Georgia Atlanta North mission. We are grateful to serve with your son and will certainly take care of him and love him as if he were our own. May the Lord bless you and your family for making this sacrifice and sharing Elder Boman with us for the next two years.

Sincerely,
President Mark A Wolfert and Sister Carol A Wolfert
Georgia Atlanta North Mission
