Jeff's New Area - Jackson

Jeff is now serving in Jackson, Georgia.  Jackson is a city in Butts County and is about 40 miles south of Atlanta. The population was about 5,000 in 2010. The city is the county seat of Butts County and is named for Andrew Jackson. From what I read it looks like a much more modest area in terms of income and housing than his last area, so it will probably be a big adjustment.  It also has a much more diverse population and is about 54% white and 41% black.  The area is also mainly Southern Baptist.

Here is his new address:
124 Cedar Street Apt A2
Jackson, GA 30223

Here is some information that I found on the city's website.

Welcome to the website of the City of Jackson, Georgia! Located in historic Butts County just 40 miles south of Atlanta, Jackson is a progressive and diverse city, rich in history and culture. Historic homes, big city amenities and small town charms abound as you drive through our downtown area. Stop for coffee on the Jackson square, take your pick from many different restaurants around town, shop in family owned stores or just enjoy the scenery-Jackson has something for everyone. Local civic clubs such as Lions, Rotary, or the Exchange Club coexist with just about any protestant denomination of church you could want. If you like a green city, then look no further than Jackson-we are a tree city, as evidenced by the recent aerial photographs of downtown. Founded in 1826, Jackson boasts a full time police force, fire department, public works, and electric department. We also are partners with the Butts County Water & Sewer Authority, providing water and sewer service to our residents. We are located just minutes away from beautiful Jackson Lake, Indian Springs State Park and The Village at Indian Springs, High Falls State Park and Dauset Trails Nature Center. The Jackson Council for the Arts has regular displays, art shows and promotes musical concerts from time to time. Come visit Jackson and see what we have to offer!
Jackson has six elected officials including a Mayor and five Council Members. City Hall is managed by the City Clerk. The City Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the City Municipal Courthouse.
