Weekly Email - 5/20/13

Mom,
Things are going well here! We had an interesting week! It's always different after a baptism because you have to go back to the drawing board and find new people to teach and such.. So we've had some cool experiences this week as we've been trying to do that.
The first one was after we had gotten in with a family and talked and prayed with them. As we were leaving the drive-way, a man on a motorcycle stopped to talk to us. His name is Eric and he has a shop of his own. We offered to come help him at his shop and he was totally cool with that! So the next day we went to his shop. He's teaching us all about Motorcycles! How to ride, fix and tune up. He said that once we're totally done with the bike we're working on, and after he tests it out, He'll let us ride it up and down in the back parking lot! It's a really cool experience and he asks questions about our church as we go!
On Saturday we went to a place called Shane's Rib Shack and they were giving away free ribs to the first 100 people to get there, so me and Elder Hastings went at 9:30 and finished up studies and contacted people while we were waiting! It was really fun! We got t-shirts with the number we were in line and pictures! I was number 11 and Hastings was number 13! It was super fun!
Friday we had Elder Stanley G. Ellis of the Seventy come to our Zone Conference to do his mission tour. He talked a lot about how much faith really plays into doing missionary work! A lot of the times, we have to act on spiritual promptings just to show the Lord our willingness to do so. The outcome may not show right away. But as we continue to do what the spirit directs, we see miracles happen in our lives! One of these miracles came from looking hard for someone new to teach. We found 2! Kimberly and her mother, Clara Smith. They have a baptismal date for the 22nd of June! They're super awesome and really willing to learn! We'll see how they progress as time goes by...
Hope all is going well for ya'll! I love and miss you!
ELDER BOMAN
