Weekly Email - 10/14/13

  • Things are going well! My new companions name is E. Fergus. He's from Oregon! He's a funny kid and he's very outgoing so we don't have a problem talking to everyone! It's starting to cool down and the days are starting to get shorter and the leaves are starting to change! It's a good season here! Fall is definitely my favorite season in Georgia because of all the trees and the colors from the changes! It's amazing! As for the teaching here, it hasn't been going the best.. Everyone is dropping their appointments and we haven't been able to get in with a lot of our investigators.. Elder Evans of the 70 is doing a fireside this Thursday for Recent Converts and Investigators so hopefully we'll be able to get somebody there so we can go! Should be a great opportunity for an investigator to hear from a General Authority in person.
On Saturday we're having our trunk or treat at the church so it should be another great opportunity to get our investigators fellowshipped! The question is.. Should we dress up as Cowboy's or One Direction?? We got a new 2014 Chevy Cruze for a little bit. It's temporary so we're hoping we have it for awhile and that we can get out to some places that we haven't been able to get out and tract them.. It's a very rural area.
For Keary's question on the Georgia Peaches: the answer is no.. They're not all they're cracked up to be! A lot of people here say that South Carolina and Utah Peaches are actually a lot better! That's awesome about the project! I love the feeling you get when you serve other people and you can tell the immediate impact it has on them! And when we are serving others, we are tools in our Heavenly Fathers hands to bless those around us and therefore, we are serving God!
I hope everything is going well for ya'll! I love you! Hope you have an amazing week!
    ELDER BOMAN
