Mom and Dad,
So cool story to start
us off this week. So we were doing our weekly planning. That is when we
plan out our week and set up appointments. So we were calling some
people setting up appointments. I told Elder Youd we have this member
who is dating a man who has been to church and really liked it he asked
"how he could change his religion." So Elder Youd says well lets give
them a call and see if we can set something up with him. Lowell is his
name. So I call and the members answers the phone and she is like "wow
that was really weird, Lowell and myself were just talking about the
church and how it will bring so much more peace in his life and he said
that he wanted to meet with you, I was looking for you number but I
couldn't find it. Now here you are calling us! Way to be in tune with the
spirit!" It was awesome so we had set up an appointment for this last
week and we went and taught them. Ill tell you more about the
appointment. But yeah so it was really cool. We just felt that we should
call them up, there wasn't a voice or anything that told us to call. It
just shows that the Lord is preparing people to hear the gospel it was
pretty cool to have that experience. But it was awesome!
So
we end up going to their house to have lunch and to teach them. Turns
out that Lowell's best friend Harry decided to join in on the lesson. So
we have Lowell and Harry who have both been down some rough paths in
their lives. But get this. Our team up who just left on his mission
yesterday knew both of them from a previous encounter in jail! They had
no idea what was going on. It was really cool because when our member
was in jail he was a rough dude. But with how much he has changed and
repented the last year he is now going on a mission. It was really
awesome because that gave them hope that they can truely change and
become better. It was a great lesson we taught them a ton! They had so
many questions it was very cool to see. So the end of the lesson comes
and the big question comes up "when you come to know these things are
true will you be baptized?" They both say yes then we give them both
date for the 23rd of March.
So they are doing great! We talked to our member the other day and she
said that Harry and her were talking and he said that this has been the
most peace he has felt in a long time. So that is awesome! Good things
are happening!
So
yeah we also had a cool opportunity to go and teach at Christian High
School. We taught a worlds religion class and it was sweet! We answered
typical anti questions people don't like to hear, you dont believe in
the trinity, yall believe you can become like God, not all sin is
covered by Christ atonement, and so forth it was a cool opportunity
cause we basically taught the restoration it was sweet. It felt weird
being in the school. We got a lot of funny looks. it was awesome. But
yeah what can we say? We had a great week! I Hope ya'll have an awesome
