Hey Fam,
Things haven't changed much
since last week.. I'm still not a very happy camper. We had a Pioneer
Days activity this weekend and the Assistants showed up and just started
rebuking people just because he loves to do it... E. Packard talked
back to him a little bit and so the Assistant told Pres. Harding that we
were doing nothing at the Pioneer days but we were helping with a Less
Actives Members booth and had a lot of other Less Active members show up
that we invited.. Anyway to make a long story short, President called
last night and talked to E. Packard about what happened, he then asked
how I was doing, E. Packard said I was struggling and having a hard time
and then, this is what blew my fuse last night, President said, E.
Packard can i tell you a little about your companion?
Back in July a few missionaries
in the Conyers Zone went to a Braves game and were planning on just
piling out the rest of their missions. So they went, and one of the
missionaries got sent home. I'm friends with him and because I was
friends and talked to all these missionaries at meetings and such, he
automatically assumes I'm a terrible missionary and was telling E.
Packard of how bad I was. I DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANYTHING THEY DID. In
fact I told them straight up that I wouldn't. President Harding hasn't
taken anytime to talk or try to talk to me. So he doesn't know me and is
hardcore judging. It's really making me mad. I don't want to serve
under a man that is like that, it's just adding fuel to the fire.
On a much lighter note. We did
teach a part member family, The Dunlaps. Brother Dunlap is a non-member
and Sis Dunlap basically had an impression when praying that if she
would be an example her husband would join the church. So we went in
there and were talking and i was told beforehand that we should teach
him about Prayer because he doesn't feel worthy to pray. In
fact, missionaries beforehand had been trying to get him to pray but
haven't had any success with it. We taught him and just testified to him
of how much his Heavenly Father wants to hear from him. We told him we
loved and cared about him and the member that came with us got a little
choked up as well. It was a really good lesson and the Spirit was there.
Come Sunday, Sister Dunlap came
up to me and said, Elder I appreciate your words you said to me and my
husband. Missionaries have never expressed Love for him before. He's
been praying this week! It was super cool to be able to help him do
that! We have another appointment with him tomorrow!
Wednesday we got in a little
bit of a bash with an investigator over Joseph Smith.. She said she
wouldn't read the Book of Mormon so we basically told her that if she
wouldn't read she wouldn't know if it's true or not. So before the end
of the night, she comitted to read a chapter! So that was good, too.
Well I hope all is going well
for ya'll! Please keep praying for me as I know you do! I'm having a
REALLY hard time right now. I love y'all!
ELDER BOMAN
