Weekly Email - 8/26/13

Things are going pretty well here. It's transfer week and i found out that i'm going to be transferred and training in a new area for the latter end of my mission. So that should keep me pretty busy! I'm not sure where I'm going to be headed and won't know where until Wednesday at the transfer meeting!

But we had a really great week! We were able to meet with Brother Dunlap a couple of times this week. On Friday we had a team up lined up for him but our team up got called into work about 20 minutes before work so we decided we weren't going to be able to find a replacement for him so we went by ourselves. Bro Dunlap's wife was also gone so we she wasn't there either, He really opened up to us and shared a lot of his feelings that he wouldn't of otherwise shared if we had a team up. It was very spiritual and I think it was the first time I had ever actually cried in a lesson. It was when he started praying with us. It's been the first time that he's ever done that! He's progressing very well! Then Saturday night he took us to the Nashville Tribute Concert at McEachern High School. He had a really good time and He even introduced himself to another Investigator that came to church on Sunday! It was really cool!

The Maddox's are doing good. We were able to meet with them briefly... Not sure if they're going to be able to make their date but they're really working on trying to find truth in their life so that's really good!

We got a referral from the Dallas Sisters. His name is Jared Standridge, He called us and asked if we could meet with him after church on Sunday! He loved church! The lesson we had in Elders Quorum was perfect for him! It was on Whitney L. Clayton's talk, Marriage: Watch and Learn. He is currently seperated from his wife, and expressed that it was exactly what he needed to hear. We then taught him the Restoration afterward, and he understood everything about it and accepted the invitation to be baptized on Sept. 21! So i'm super excited for him!
