A Special Email

Just wanted to share a note I (Mom) got about Jeff. Thought you would like to hear.

Hello Sister Boman!

Our family lives out in Woodstock, GA where your son serves. He is such a delight and very giving person that I had to write. Normally I don't do this, but we are enjoying your son and his companion, Elder Famas. Today they both helped us put down our Christmas lights and decorations outside. Each year our family does this, and both my husband and I say this will be our last. Lol especially with my husbands shoulder not working and will be having surgery soon. The guys saved us today as I wouldn't have been able to put up all those heavy boxes in the attic.

The way that I see these two young men serve is in a sweet spirit. You must have taught your son young of how to be kind to all and very giving. In the beginning of December, I had type A flu. I was not able to have the medicine, Tamaflu, since it had been over 24hrs already. I was really sick. Those two brought over my favorite drink to say get better. so thoughtful!

There is a older man in the ward that had a heat stroke back in 2004. It has left him with difficulties in talking and walking. He was close to the elders and sisters that baptized him but the two missionaries before your son did not visit him. When I went over to take a meal , he told me how upset he was. I asked if I could let the current elders know. He was very firm in his answer... No! That was a Thursday. Friday he goes to the library and guess who happens to be there... Your son and his companion. A small prayer was answered that day. Since then, those go over to his apartment and help him read the BofM. I believe this older gentleman did not have the correct schooling back ground and appears to have some dyslexia from what I can see. He lights up now when he talks about your son.

Bro. Possey (the older gentleman) is on a very limited budget and was not able buy Christmas decorations to liven up his apartment. The two brought over lights and a small Christmas tree. Soon after your son discovered Bro. Possey's watch was not working, Elder Boman took off his watch and gave it to him. This elderly man had tears in his eyes telling me the story of your sons thoughtfulness.

We really appreciate him taking his time (2 yrs) to serve the Lord and seeing all that he does, the small miracles that happen because he listened to the promptings, and has changed peoples lives forever. I know he really misses y'all but we are again grateful for his/your sacrifices for him to be out here.

Love, Cyndi Torgersen
